J2 AU Chronicles Master Post

The J2 AU Chronicles. This started out as a one-shot, almost as a joke. The boys had other plans. They pwn me, they fell head-over-heels in love, and dragged me into this 'verse where I get to watch them do the most incredible things to each other and take notes. Every time they teach me something else about love, and I lose about 10 pounds through tears, sweat, or a combination of both. And I honestly hope neither they nor I ever, ever leave that place. The End. Thanks again to Jo for the gorgeous illustrations.
Part One: So Damn Lucky. Working at a Renaissance Festival in a place where none of us live, Jensen meets a sword swallower, who naturally has a rather special talent. first time, angst, schmoop, NC17.

Hope all is well with you all... am spending the weekend in Virginia with the folks - it's lovely here and not too hot. We went canoeing up at Fairystone this morning & then had lunch under the trees. Some of us played in the lake. It was awesome. I miss this place & it's always so wonderful when we get to come back.

Three Reccs: Short fics and a work of art
Oct. 12th, 2009 09:31 pmThis is a really beautiful little piece by a writer who's brand-new in the SPN fandom that I recently beta'd - Wincest set early in Season 4 (slightly AU). It's singularly written from Dean's POV using second person, which is hard to do well. Also, the theme of the two of them riding off in the Impala has been done often, but she's managed to take this familiar, welcome setting and craft a gutsy bit of work that is vibrant and visceral and just - quietly hopeful and peaceful and them.

It's simply marvelous and captures a moment that could have happened only once, or dozens of times over the years. I can't help but think Dean is looking up at the flying leaves and wondering about something - while Sam is concentrating on his brother and patiently waiting. For something, perhaps listening to the hint of destiny, echoed in the whisper of dry leaves skittering haplessly across the sky... how positively meaningful is this, anyway?

Last but certainly not least is this heart-wrenching but oh, so necessary-to-read piece. Sam POV, Spoilers for 5.04. A missing scene, and what if it did happen this way? Realistic to the bone, her Sam incises a chunk clean out of your soul.

Timeframe: A missing episode set between 3.13 and 3.14.
Synopsis: Dean and Sam, on a case involving demonically possessed musical instruments, collude with Bobby, Ellen, and Jo on the trail of the demons. Layla assists. Bela gets in the way, and the Impala is possessed. Meanwhile, Sam and Dean are fighting over a way to break Dean’s deal without killing Sam. They discover the demonic objects are tied intrinsically to Azazel, and there may be no way to exorcise them without great cost to someone they all love - perhaps even death. They learn that all demons are certainly NOT human and that Ruby is a liar. There are flashback sequences in which we see some of what Mary knew, and one of the reasons why Dean's eyes bled in Bloody Mary.
